What does this cookie policy cover?
This cookie policy covers cookies and similar techniques on taxsavers.nl, like storage in your browser.² This policy explains the basis on which we set them. It also shows how the cookie banner works and how you undo a choice.
The privacy statement sets out how we handle your personal data and your rights.
Below we follow your first visit, from the banner to the moment you withdraw your consent.
Which kinds of cookies does the site use?
The site uses four kinds: essential, statistics, marketing and embedded content.
Essential cookies keep the site working. One of them, ts_consent, remembers the choice you make in the banner.
Statistics measure how visitors use the site, for example which pages they read. For this we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which set cookies. They only run after you allow statistics.
Marketing cookies come from third parties and measure whether an advert works. Embedded content is a video or a chat window from another party, for example. That party may store something of its own.
The table below shows the basis for each kind and whether you need to consent.¹ The Telecommunicatiewet is the Dutch telecommunications act.
The second table lists every cookie the site can set: who sets it, what for, how long it stays and whether data leaves the EU. It is the same list the cookie banner shows under Manage preferences.
| Category | What it does | Legal basis | Consent required |
|---|---|---|---|

What happens on your first visit?
On your first visit the site sets only essential cookies. The server first checks whether the ts_consent cookie is on your device. If it is missing, no statistics or marketing cookies are set and no embedded content loads. They only follow after you switch them on.
Then the banner appears over the page. Choose one of three equally prominent options: reject all, accept all or set your preferences. Reject is the first option, so the Tab key reaches it first. Rejecting takes one click, just like accepting.
If you choose preferences, you see the four kinds separately. Essential cookies stay on, you cannot switch them off. Statistics, marketing and embedded content start off and stay that way unless you allow them. For each kind you see the provider, retention period and whether data leaves the EU.
As soon as you choose, the server writes the ts_consent cookie and records what you chose. Only then do the scripts you allowed load.
How do you change your choice or withdraw consent?
You change your choice through the cookie settings link in the footer. The banner opens again and you make a new choice. Withdrawing is as easy as allowing.
If you withdraw consent, the marketing scripts and the embedded content stop from the next page you load. Cookies another party set earlier, you delete through your browser settings.
How do we keep your choice?
We keep every choice in a record we never change afterwards. That way we can show whether you gave consent or not. The record holds a pseudonymous number, the time and your language. It also holds the banner version, the version of this text and your choice for each kind. Of your IP address we keep a shortened form. Of your browser only an encrypted identifier.
If you change your choice later, we add a new record. The old one stays. Your rights over this record are in the privacy statement.

Which text governs and when does it change?
The Dutch text of this cookie policy governs. The English version is a translation. If the two differ, the Dutch text applies.
We update this policy as soon as the site starts loading something else, a new tool or cookie for example. The date at the top of the page shows the last change.
What can you do now?
Check your current choice through the cookie settings link in the footer. With marketing off, nothing on the site changes for you. If you want to watch an embedded video or use an embedded chat, switch on embedded content only.
Do you have a question about a cookie on this site? Send our privacy contact an email. Is your question about your personal data or your rights? Then read the privacy statement first. Looking for the other legal texts? Then read the terms and conditions and the disclaimer.

Common questions about cookies on taxsavers.nl
Does the site still work if I reject everything?
Yes, the site works exactly the same. You only miss videos or chat windows from other parties. Those load once you switch on embedded content.
Do your statistics set a cookie?
Yes, but only after you allow statistics. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set cookies to tell visits apart. Without your consent they are not set.
Where do I see which cookies the site sets?
In the cookie table on this page, and in the banner under Manage preferences: the same list. Each cookie shows its provider, its retention period and whether it sends data outside the EU. You reopen the banner from the footer link.
Can I withdraw my consent later?
Yes, you do that on every page through the cookie settings link in the footer. We record your new choice next to the old one.
Does the banner work without a mouse?
Yes, you can operate the banner fully with the keyboard. The Tab key takes you to reject first.
