A pension gap is the difference between the pension you will have and the income you will need. In the Netherlands your pension comes from three layers: the state AOW, a pension through an employer, and what you build yourself. Arranging the pension is part of the plan. We take on the tax that follows.
A gap is common. You build AOW only for the years you live or work here, so arriving mid-career leaves you with less. As a freelancer you build no pension through an employer at all. And pension you built abroad does not always carry over.
We map all three layers for your situation. Then we show the tax-friendly ways to close the gap and line it up with your tax and your mortgage. So you know where you stand. If you hold pension abroad, we check the treaty so it is not taxed twice. Running your own BV brings different options, so ask us about those too. If you have the 30% ruling, check which salary your pension is based on.
How this fits your wider pension plan is on our page about pension advice.
