Tax Advisor
Ivar is a tax advisor at TaxSavers. He helps clients with Dutch income tax, including Box 1 and Box 3. He also advises on home ownership, provisional returns and worldwide income declarations. He helps with actual-return filings too. In Dutch, this is called werkelijk rendement. He also contacts the Tax Authority on behalf of clients.
Tax is built on rules and structure. That is exactly what I enjoy about it.
School was never really my thing. So at nineteen, I decided to start working. I wanted to find out what I enjoyed. I found my way into tax at an advisory firm. They trained me on the job. Step by step, I grew into the role of tax advisor. It turned out to suit me perfectly.
What I enjoy most is helping people. Tax can feel confusing and stressful. I like making it clear and manageable. When you sort things out for a client, you can really make a difference. Clients often share that in reviews or thank-you emails. That makes the work very rewarding.
I also like the structure of tax. There are clear rules to work with. That suits the way I think. At the same time, the work is very personal. I sit down with clients, hear their stories and help them directly. Every situation is different. That keeps the work interesting.
The team also makes a big difference. We help each other and keep learning together. I write articles for the same reason I enjoy client meetings. Many people have never had tax explained clearly. A good article can take away some confusion. It helps people feel more in control of their situation.
