Director
Boy is director and founder of TaxSavers. He started the company in 2018 as his graduation project and advised clients himself in the early years. Today he focuses on strategy, operations, processes and developing the team.
TaxSavers started in December 2018 as my graduation project. Today it is a company with its own team, and my role has grown along with it.
I got entrepreneurship from home. My parents run their own flower shop in Huizen, so from an early age I saw up close what it means to run your own business. That interest led me to study Entrepreneurship & Retail Management.
During my studies, a part-time job took me to A&H Finance, a mortgage advisory firm. That is where TaxSavers took shape. I started it as my graduation project and graduated in 2019.
In the early days, I did almost everything myself. Advising and helping clients was one of my most important tasks. As TaxSavers grew and the team got bigger, my focus shifted to leading and developing the organisation.
Today I no longer advise clients myself. As director, I work on strategy, operations and processes, and on developing the organisation and the team. I call it the shift from working in the business to working on the business.
Two things give me satisfaction. I want to see that clients are happy. A new five-star review, or hearing that someone was helped well: that makes my day. And I want our people to enjoy working at TaxSavers, to keep developing and to feel it is a good place to work.
When both happen at the same time, I know we are doing it right: happy clients, and people who enjoy their work and keep growing.
