Tax Advisor
Jacqueline is a tax advisor at TaxSavers. She helps entrepreneurs and freelancers with VAT and income tax. Her focus is on cross-border and reverse-charge VAT, and on getting the administration right so that the VAT follows naturally.
Both my parents are entrepreneurs, so business was part of my life from the start. I think that is why helping other entrepreneurs comes so naturally to me.
I was born and raised in Hoofddorp. I always knew I would do something in the economic world, and with two entrepreneurs as parents, it was almost inevitable. I am currently studying Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam, with a strong interest in economics, business and marketing.
Before TaxSavers, I worked in hospitality, where I learned a lot about customer contact. I picked up much of my knowledge of administration and bookkeeping while working for my father, who is a tax specialist. I often looked at tax questions alongside him, which gave me an early feel for tax advice. So when the opportunity came along, the step to TaxSavers was not a big one.
My focus now is on VAT and income tax for entrepreneurs and freelancers. When clients come to me, they often have no clear overview of their situation. So I always start with the core: I put the administration in order first, and from there I can advise, support and file the VAT correctly. Because I have done the bookkeeping side myself, I know how much that solid foundation matters. I work in a VAT team that is well tuned and closely knit, which keeps both the quality and the pace of our work high.
I write articles for the same reason I enjoy the client work. Most entrepreneurs did not start their business to become VAT experts, and they should not have to. A clear, practical article can take away a lot of that worry before a client even picks up the phone.
