Good tax advice turns complicated rules into clear steps for entrepreneurs.
I started at TaxSavers part-time during my studies. After graduating, I moved into a full-time role at the Entrepreneur Tax team. My background in business administration, tax law, accounting and finance helps me understand both the tax rules and the practical side of running a business.
My work is entirely focused on entrepreneurs. In practice, I help sole traders, freelancers and small business owners with VAT returns, income tax returns and questions about their bookkeeping. Ideally, entrepreneurs find us before the questions get complicated but in practice, many come to us when something has already gone wrong.
VAT becomes especially complex when entrepreneurs work with foreign clients. I help clients check whether they should charge Dutch VAT, apply the reverse-charge mechanism, use 0% VAT or file an EC sales list. These details matter, because one wrong setting in an invoice or bookkeeping system can lead to incorrect VAT returns.
Most entrepreneurs use accounting software, and that handles the basics well. On top of that, I review what goes in and catch the exceptions, especially in cross-border VAT and EC sales lists. And when questions come in from the Tax Authority, I handle those directly.
I write articles because VAT and tax language often feel more complicated than they need to be. A clear article can help entrepreneurs understand what is expected of them, avoid common mistakes and ask for help before a small issue becomes a bigger problem.
