How we work

A tax advisor for Utrecht, working across the Netherlands.

We work for clients across the Netherlands. Utrecht is part of that, every filing season.

Many of our Utrecht clients work at Utrecht Science Park. We advise researchers and academic staff there, at Utrecht University and at UMC Utrecht. They fit an appointment around teaching or lab hours.

You send your documents digitally and your advisor shares the screen while you go through them.

More about how we work with internationals is on our tax advisor page.

Your tax advisor in Utrecht works from Amstelveen.

How it works

How we get your return filed.

Four steps from your first question to the filed return.

Your call

We meet by phone or on Teams

You pick a slot that suits your day. Your advisor calls you, or sends you a Teams invite.

You leave with a call that fits your day, wherever you are.
Your price

You see the price before we start

We agree a fixed price and what it covers. You decide whether to go ahead. See our pricing page for what each service costs.

You leave with a fixed price, agreed in writing.
Your return

We prepare and file your return

You read the draft first and tell us to go ahead. Only then does your return reach the Belastingdienst, the Dutch tax authority. If you miss the deadline, we ask for an extension.

You leave with your return filed, and an advisor who stays reachable.

Frequently asked

Tax advisor Utrecht, your questions answered.

These four come up most in our Utrecht calls. Not the one you had in mind? Ask your advisor

I am a PhD at UMC Utrecht with a foreign grant. Can you handle that?
Yes. Utrecht University, UMC Utrecht and Utrecht Science Park put most PhDs and postdocs on a Dutch payroll. That gives you Dutch employment income. A foreign grant, stipend or scholarship sits next to it, with its own treatment. We file both in one return. If you have the 30% ruling we apply it. For your arrival year we file the M-form.
How do we work together if I am in Utrecht?
Most meetings happen on Teams or by phone, at a time that suits your working day. Your advisor works for clients across the Netherlands, Utrecht included. Our office is TaxSavers, Amsterdamseweg 71A, 1182GP Amstelveen.
I just started at Utrecht University and this is my first Dutch return. Do I need an advisor?
Not always. With one Dutch salary and nothing else, the Belastingdienst's own online form may be enough. It gets more involved the moment a foreign grant, a 30% ruling, savings abroad or an arrival year comes in. Utrecht's international population skews young, so we hear this question often. The free intro call tells you which of the two you are.
I studied at Hogeschool Utrecht and just started my first job here. What changes?
Your first full salary changes your return. As a student you often paid little or no tax, and a part-year job can mean you overpaid. Your first working year brings a payslip, tax credits and possibly a voorlopige aanslag. That is the provisional assessment the Belastingdienst sets during the year. Many internationals who study at Utrecht University or Hogeschool Utrecht stay here for a first job. We go through that first return with you.
