Worldwide income return

What the worldwide income return is and how we handle it.

The Opgaaf wereldinkomen form decides the final amount of your Dutch benefit or CAK healthcare contribution. The Belastingdienst sends it after a year you spent partly or fully outside the Netherlands. It applies if you, your partner, or a relative had a Dutch benefit or paid the CAK healthcare contribution abroad. The CAK is the Dutch agency that collects the healthcare contribution abroad. It is not an income tax return, but it is mandatory.

We check your situation and file it before the deadline. Helping a parent or relative abroad with theirs? We handle that too.

Whether you count as a Dutch tax resident is on our page about tax residency.

Worldwide income return explained
How it works

Four steps, all handled.

Your income

We work out your worldwide income

We work out your worldwide income from your Dutch and foreign income, and any relevant assets. We flag anything that needs a second look.

You leave with a figure you can trust.
Your draft

You approve a draft before we file

You see exactly what goes to the Belastingdienst before we file it.

You leave with full control over what we file in your name.
On time

We file it and watch the deadline

We file your form before the date on the cover page or request a postponement if you need more time.

You leave with peace of mind that it's handled.

“Most people worry when this form lands. It's usually simple once we know your situation abroad and in the Netherlands. We just need the details, once.”

Pricing

One fixed fee, agreed before any work starts.

Not sure where to start? Your advisor checks what applies to you.

How we price · What's included

You agree to a fixed fee in writing before any work starts. The number of years and family members involved sets your fee, and we tell you up front. Filing a Dutch tax return this year too? Ask about combining both. Read how our Dutch income tax return service works.

Yourself, or with us

Anyone can fill it in. We check the whole thing.

The difference is the check, not the form. Ignore the form and the Belastingdienst sets your worldwide income itself, usually to your disadvantage.

Nadya was very helpful and responsive, the process ran smoothly and now the last step is to wait for the provisional tax assessment from the belastingdienst :-) 10/10!

Frequently asked

Worldwide income return questions, answered.

The questions we hear most about the Opgaaf wereldinkomen form. Your question not here? Ask your advisor

What is a worldwide income return?
It's the Opgaaf wereldinkomen form, which sets your worldwide income from your Dutch and foreign income (and any relevant assets). The Belastingdienst uses it to set the final amount of your Dutch benefit or CAK healthcare contribution.
Who has to file it?
You receive it if you, your partner, or a relative lived abroad with a benefit or CAK contribution. We check which years and which family members your form covers. Filing is mandatory for every year the form lists. Not sure it applies to you? We confirm that in the free call.
What happens if I don't file it?
The Belastingdienst sets your worldwide income itself, usually to your disadvantage. Your benefit or CAK contribution gets recalculated on that basis, which can mean repaying money you already received.
Is this the same as my income tax return?
No, they're separate. The worldwide income return only feeds your benefit or CAK contribution. If you also owe an income tax return, that's filed on its own. See our Dutch income tax return page if that applies to you.
How much is the CAK healthcare contribution?
There's no fixed amount. It depends on your income, your country of residence, and your family size. Your pension fund or benefits agency deducts it monthly on the CAK's behalf.
What if I can't meet the deadline?
You can request a postponement in writing, before the date on your form. We can do this for you the moment we take on your case.
