What we do

What we handle and what we do not

Three things we do not do. We do not quote a price without knowing your situation. We do not file anything you have not seen and approved. We do not promise a completion date we cannot hold. Instead we tell you what the next step is. The prices we publish are per service and your call confirms which one applies.

This page answers the questions you have about us: how we start, what it costs, what we need and when you get an answer.

A question about a Dutch tax rule has its own page. See our tax return page for the short version. We keep that page current, so you get the version that still holds.

Working with us

How working with us actually goes

Eight things you want to know before you decide. Ask us if yours is missing. Ask Menno

How does working with TaxSavers start?
It starts with a free call of twenty minutes. We look at your situation and say plainly whether we can help.
Do you work in English?
Yes. Every advisor here works in English and in Dutch. You pick the language and we keep to it in calls, letters and your return.
Do I have to come to the office?
No. Almost everything runs by call, video or a secure upload. Our office in Amstelveen is open if you would rather sit down together.
Can I switch from my current advisor?
Yes, switching is normal and we handle it. We ask you for permission to file on your behalf. Your previous advisor keeps whatever they already did for you.
Do I get the same person every time?
Yes. A dedicated advisor handles your case, start to finish. You keep the same person year after year, so you never explain your situation twice.
Can you look at my mortgage or pension too?
Not ourselves. A&H Finance advises on mortgage, insurance and pension, and we advise on tax. Ask about it in the first call and we introduce you.
Are you authorised to give mortgage and insurance advice?
TaxSavers advises on tax, not on mortgages, insurance or pensions. For those we work with A&H Finance, a trade name of New Business Group B.V. They hold the AFM licence (12017511) and they advise and arrange. We introduce you and take on the tax that follows.
Can you handle my foreign income or my first Dutch year?
Yes. Arrival years and foreign income are normal work for us. Bring those details to your first call.
How it works

From your first call to your assessment

Every return follows the same route. You always know which part is ours and which part is yours.

Step 2

We arrange permission and you send your documents

We ask the Dutch tax office (Belastingdienst) for permission to file for you. Then we tell you exactly what to send.

You leave with one clear list, so you never guess what counts.
Step 3

We prepare your return and go through it with you

You see a draft first. We walk through it together before we file it.

You leave with a draft you understand and approve yourself.
Step 4

We file it and check the assessment

We file on your behalf. When the assessment arrives we check it against what we filed.

You leave with a check of the assessment and a flag if something is off.

Price and payment

What it costs and when you pay

We price per situation, never per hour. Ask Menno

What does it cost?
You pay a fixed price for your situation, agreed before we start. There is no bill at the end that you did not expect. Every price for every service is on our services and pricing page.
Do your prices include VAT?
The prices we publish for private clients include 21% VAT. Your quote always states the VAT basis, so you know what the final figure is. Every quote also states this on our pricing page.
When do I pay?
We invoice once the work is done, not before. Your agreement sets the payment term and we send it to you before we start.
What if my situation turns out to be more work?
We tell you before we do the extra work, not after. If your situation changes what we agreed, you get a new price to approve first.
Is the first call really free?
Yes. Twenty minutes, no cost and no obligation. We would rather tell you honestly that you do not need us than sell you something.

Documents and data

What you send us and when you hear back

The practical half of the work. What we ask for, how we get permission and what we do with your data. Ask Menno

What do you need from me?
We send you one list, built from your situation. For a tax return that usually means your annual statements, your BSN (Dutch citizen service number) and anything that changed last year. The full list of documents and why each one counts is on our tax return page. In your first Dutch year we ask what you had abroad as well.
How do you get permission to file for me?
We request it for you, so all you have to do is approve it. The Belastingdienst sends you a letter once we have your BSN. You sign one page of it and send that page back.
How long does it take?
How long it takes depends on your documents and on your situation. We reply within one working day, every working day. Once your documents are complete we start on it.
Can I get an extension for my tax return?
Yes, an extension is usually possible if you ask in time. We arrange that request with the tax office for you. We tell you as soon as the tax office grants it.
What happens to my data?
We ask for what a return needs and nothing more. We do not pass your information on, except where the law requires it. You can ask us what we hold. You can also ask us to delete it.
Do you see what the Belastingdienst already has?
Yes, once you have given us permission. We collect the details already on file and check them against what you tell us. That is how we catch the things people forget.
Can you look at earlier years?
We can check earlier years to see whether they still add up. Whether we can still correct something depends on the year and on your assessment. We tell you what we find before you decide anything.

Self-employed

Questions if you work for yourself

Sole traders, freelancers and small companies. Ask Menno

Do you work with self-employed clients?
Yes. A large part of what we do is for people who work for themselves. That runs from your income tax return to your VAT returns and your yearly figures.
How does a monthly package work?
You pay a fixed amount each month and we keep your figures current all year. You can see what each package costs before you choose one.
Do you do my bookkeeping too?
Yes. We set you up on the bookkeeping platform we work with. You enter your invoices there and we work from those figures.
I have a bv (private limited company). Can you help?
Yes. The questions are different ones. Entity choice, your salary as a director and what to do with profit come up instead. We cover them on our tax advice for entrepreneurs page.
